About the Teak Wood variant
Teak has long been valued in Indian homes for its strength, natural oils and warm, attractive grain. The Teak Wood Vajra Asanam brings these qualities to your practice: a solid, stable seat that feels grounded the moment you sit on it, and that looks beautiful left out in a meditation or prayer corner.
If you are building a consistent daily routine — morning breathing, evening mudras, or a quiet ten minutes before bed — this variant is designed to be your long-term companion.
Crafted to be steady
The teak is carved, cut and shaped with experience into a solid seat that is designed to be steady — it sits firmly and does not rock as you settle onto it.
Best suited to
- People who practise daily at home and want a permanent, sturdy seat.
- Anyone who prefers the feel and look of natural wood.
- Households where more than one family member will use the seat.
Who it is for
- Desk-job professionals: a solid seat for a home practice corner where you return to mudra and breathing routines after work.
- Students: a steady, distraction-free seat for a daily pre-study breathing ritual.
- Seniors (55+): a firm, stable base that does not wobble; add a folded towel on top for extra softness if preferred.
How we use it in sessions
In our Mudra Therapy sessions and the Mudra and Breathing online program, the Vajra Asanam supports an upright, relaxed spine. We show you how to position the seat, how to sit and rise safely, and how to add a folded towel under the knees or ankles if needed. Begin with two to three minutes and increase gradually; stop if you feel numbness, tingling or pain.
Care
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and standing water. An occasional light application of a wood-care oil helps maintain the finish.
